Art - Sculpture

"Picture and sculpture are the celebrations and festivities of form."

                                                                   Emerson, 1841

Few things in this world are so strictly personal as the interpretation of art. The appreciation of forms, shapes, contours and colours is always an intimate process of mysterious, aesthetic, spiritual chemistry.  In latin it is said "de gustibus et coloribus non disputandum."  Therefore it is almost impossible to try to present ones own perception about even a few examples of "great" sculptures which enchanted humanity for centuries. Nevertheless I introduce here a few masterpieces, from various periods, which impressed particularly my spirit. Some of them might live in the admiration of people from generation to generation until the marble and the bronze will have worn themselves completely away.
